This late 19th century, Victorian gold, garnet and split pearl brooch is a very fine example and is in excellent condition. The round brooch head has a beautiful cannetille surround and ivy leaf and foliate applied gold. The centre is set with a square garnet stone in a square bezel setting. Below the round head is a lovely split pearl and ball detail.
The split pearls are a creamy white hue, with iridescent overtones and typical surface features. The garnet is a bright maroon hue and contrasts beautifully with the honey gold.
The piece is unmarked but has been tested and passes as 18ct gold.
Dimensions of head: 2.1cm x 1.9cm
ABOUT OUR JEWELLERY
This piece has been specifically selected by us, for you. We choose vintage and antique items which we think are beautiful, elegant and classic at a range of price points between £30 and £3,000.
Generally, this means we only ever have one of each piece. We don’t select pieces which are “mass market” but rather items which are more individual. This means that once an item has been purchased, it really has gone.
Each piece comes in an attractive jewellery presentation box.
