When I think of the late 1920s and early 30s, I have this vision of inter-war life which was defined by cocktails, fashion, parties and care free living. In short, I envisage the world described in the Great Gatsby.
The era saw progressive fashion with American movie stars setting the trends and a new wave of modern young women, often referred to as flappers, we’re turning heads and turning behavioural and fashion norms upside down
This beautiful 9ct gold flapper or slave bangle is an original from this era. It would have been worn on the arm below the shoulder with a short sleeved dress.
The bangle is in excellent condition. It is a single gold band with engine turned engraving. The bangle is fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1928.
Dimensions: 8cm x 8cm (25cm / 9.5-10” circumference)
ABOUT OUR JEWELLERY
This piece has been specifically selected by us, for you. We choose vintage and antique items which we think are beautiful, elegant and classic at a range of price points between £30 and £3,000.
Generally, this means we only ever have one of each piece. We don’t select pieces which are “mass market” but rather items which are more individual. This means that once an item has been purchased, it really has gone.
Each piece comes in an attractive jewellery presentation box.
