This brooch is a fabulous example of Art Deco jewellery. Two perfectly smooth, round onyx stones are side-by-side with two cross bars of rose cut diamonds. These are all set in 15ct yellow gold (this has been tested).
This would be the perfect brooch for a shawl or jacket. It’s a wonderfully unique piece.

ABOUT THE ART DECO PERIOD
The Art Deco period was an era of fabulous design - elegance and panache. Geometric designs conjuring images of skyscrapers and city scenes, the start of a modern and golden era of cinema and grand hotels. The Deco period followed the end of the Great War and was a time of celebration of freedom. This opulence is reflected in the jewellery being designed and worn - cocktail watches and diamond brooches and rings were the rage incorporating black onyx as well as green jades and the blues of aquamarine and sapphire, together with diamonds and set in gold, often white gold, and platinum.
